Based on this excerpt from john milton's paradise lost, what was satan's...
sight hateful, sight tormenting! thus these two
imparadis't in one anothers arms
the happier eden, shall enjoy their fill
of bliss on bliss, while i to hell am thrust,
where neither joy nor love, but fierce desire,
among our other torments not the least,
still unfulfill'd with pain of longing pines;
yet let me not forget what i have gain'd
he envied the love they shared, which he would never experience.
he resented them because god was lenient toward adam and eve but banished satan.
he was angry with god and wanted to seek revenge by ruining god’s creations.
he was furious that god did not love him as he loved the humans adam and eve.
he felt disrespected because god seemed to value humans more than an angel like hi
i say this is because in the last part of the excerpt Satan is jealous of Adam and Eve because they were given more chances when sinning but Satan was exiled and isnt forgiven so in this way because of his jealousy Satan wants to punish them.
Satan's likely motive for wanting to punish Adam and Eve as he was angry with God and wanted to seek revenge by ruining God’s creations.
As Satan disguised himself as a large seabird, Cormorant, he watches Adam and Eve walking erect and working pleasantly among other animals. On seeing this Satan's anger and jealousy intensifies as he sees the beautiful creation created by God after his legions fall. Therefore, he seeks revenge for his fall by destructing the god's creation.
where's the question??????
